The concern of the people of Delhi-NCR has also increased after the case of Omicron's XE variant came to light in Gujarat, as other business activities have also become normal with the opening of schools here.

In the latest cases, more than a dozen students were found infected with a corona in several schools in Noida and Ghaziabad adjacent to Delhi, in which one student is a resident of Delhi and she studies in a private school in Ghaziabad. This student has recently returned from her parents' visit to Jammu and Kashmir.

Not only in Delhi but the cases of corona have increased in the cities of NCR including Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad. In such a situation, questions have started to arise, will the XE variant of Omicron bring the fourth wave of corona across the country including Delhi-NCR?

Experts are not categorically denying the arrival of the fourth wave in India, they say that the fourth wave will not be as dangerous as the previous three waves. Because of the situation, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has asked Delhi and other state governments to regularly monitor the areas with the potential spread of infection and take necessary action.

XE variant spreads 10 times faster, Delhi-NCR needs to be cautious

Experts have claimed about Omicron's XE variant that it spreads about 10 times faster. In such a situation, if it comes to India, it can spread rapidly, because all the cities of the country including Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata are densely populated.

The last three waves in Delhi and Mumbai had created a ruckus. Experts say that the XE variant is a mixed strain of Omicron's two sublineages BA.1 and BA.2. In such a situation, the World Health Organization has described the XE variant as 10 times faster to spread.

Experts say that the rules of physical distance and wearing of masks are breaking fast, in such a situation there is a possibility of a fourth wave due to the XE variant in India.
