There is a slight decrease in new cases of corona daily in the country. 16,248 new cases were registered on Sunday. Compared to the previous day, 1528 cases were found less. Active cases i.e. the number of patients undergoing treatment has increased to 1 lakh 29 thousand 141. The death toll from Corona has come down from 41 to 25 in 24 hours.
The concern for the elderly increased in Corona
About 70% of senior citizens did not get proper health facilities during the corona pandemic. During this time 57% had to face mental health problems. 53% of people said that their concerns about the disease included the corona epidemic. This has been revealed in a survey by Antara, a firm of Max Group. In a survey conducted on urban areas, the company got the opinion of 2,100 people aged 60 years and above. The survey was conducted from March to May.
About 72% of those surveyed said that they opted for self-care and a balanced diet to avoid the pandemic. 55% relied on home remedies instead of doctors' advice.
In the survey on the preparedness of the government for Covid-19, 59% said that the government was successful in managing some aspects well. The number of people who agreed on this in the 2020 survey was just 23%. About 33% said that the precautionary measures given by the government to the common people were not enough. The number of people expressing this opinion was at the level of 77% in the 2020 survey. Only 8% said that the government had failed to manage most of the challenges. Commenting on the findings of the survey, Rajit Mehta, MD, Antara said, “This survey will help in assessing the needs and demands of our elders. It will help to understand the development of their likes, concerns, and aspirations.
People in the survey preferred a separate assisted living facility. 64% said that would like to avail such a facility. 44% said it would give them a chance to hang out with people of similar opinions.

65% said they feared getting infected after recovering from the corona.
58% said they were afraid of being alone in society due to strict guidelines.
50% said avoiding serious illness and maintaining health were the biggest concerns after the second wave.
West Bengal is on top, not Kerala
Talking about the states, the maximum number of new cases of corona came from West Bengal. In Sunday's figures, the highest number of 2962 cases in the country are coming from West Bengal. However, neither increase nor decline was seen in new cases in West Bengal.
The country has the highest number of new cases in five states
There are 5 states in the country from where the maximum number of cases are coming. These include West Bengal, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. In Kerala, there was a decline of 9 percent in newly infected people. At the same time, a decrease of 5% was seen in the new infected in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
