After Radhakrishnan's resignation, President Murmu has handed over the additional charge of Maharashtra to Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat. Devvrat will now take over the responsibility of the Governor of both states.

He was also in charge of Kerala BJP from 2020 to 2022. He is considered a leader with a strong hold in both the organization and administration. Radhakrishnan, who has the image of a humble and accessible leader, is called the Modi of Tamil Nadu by his supporters.
Radhakrishnan, who comes from the OBC community Kongu Vellalar (Goundar), is married to Sumati and has a son and a daughter. He was the Governor of Maharashtra before being selected as the NDA candidate for the post of Vice President. He became the Governor of Maharashtra in July last year. Earlier, in February 2023, he was appointed the Governor of Jharkhand. While being the Governor of Jharkhand, he took additional charge as the Governor of Telangana and the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. Radhakrishnan played an important role in the growth of the BJP in South India.
He entered public life as a volunteer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He became a member of the State Executive Committee of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1974. In 1996, he was appointed the Secretary of the BJP in Tamil Nadu. After this, he was elected to the Lok Sabha twice from Coimbatore in 1998 and 1999. However, he had to face defeat from Coimbatore three times in a row in 2004, 2014, and 2019. As an MP, he was the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee (Ministry of Textiles). Apart from this, he was a member of the Special Parliamentary Committee formed to investigate the stock exchange scam.
