New Delhi, ANI. A hearing was held in the Supreme Court for the proper treatment of Covid-19 patients and the bodies of those who died of the disease were kept in hospitals in a dignified manner. During this time, the focus of the Supreme Court remained on the system of Delhi and the court was very strict on the Kejriwal government on the games being done in hospitals. The court also gave strict instructions to Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal during this period. The Supreme Court commented in one place and even said that the bodies are being found in the garbage, people are being treated worse than animals.
During the hearing, the Solicitor General said that guidelines have been issued on handling the bodies. On this, the court said that we are worried about the treatment of people more alive than dead bodies. The court said, 'The number of tests has also been reduced. Very few tests are being done in Delhi. We got information about the plight of patients from media reports. They have to live with the dead body. Facility like oxygen is not available. People are running around on the patient while the beds are empty in the government hospital.
The court asked the Delhi government why the Corona investigation has been reduced. While hearing the case, Justice Ajit Prakash Shah has said that the corpses are being kept in a disorderly manner, what is happening? They have reprimanded the Delhi government for this.
The Supreme Court says that the bodies of Delhi are not being properly cared for in government hospitals. Patients' families are also not being informed about the deaths. In some cases, families have also not been able to attend the funeral.
The court said that on 15 March, the Center issued guidelines on handling dead bodies. However, this is not being followed. In Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, the conditions of treatment are worst. Notices were also issued by the court to these states. The court also asked for a separate notice to be issued to LNJP Hospital in Delhi. At the same time, the next hearing was scheduled on 17 June.
