A pregnant woman fell into the gap between the train and the platform while trying to get off a moving train at Kalyan railway station, adjacent to Mumbai. Seeing her fall, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on duty on the spot jumped agilely and caught the woman before she fell on the tracks. This incident of saving the woman's life has been captured in the CCTV camera installed on the platform. After the video surfaced, now the RPF is being said to honor the jawan.
A small mistake could have caused a big accident
According to Kalyan RPF, the incident happened on Monday afternoon. A passenger named Chandresh along with his child and eight months pregnant wife boarded the wrong train. They had to go on train number 02103 Gorakhpur Express. After leaving the train platform, he came to know about his mistake and then in a hurry to get off the train, this accident happened. Chandresh first got down with his son and then his pregnant wife tried to get down and she stumbled and fell into the gap of the platform. Meanwhile, RPF constable SR Khandekar, who was on duty there, grabbed him and dragged him towards him.
Railways appealed not to get off the moving train
Let it be the charisma of the above that despite falling from the train, the 8-month-old pregnant woman suffered minor scratches and her child was safe. Following the incident, Central Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer Shivaji Sutar tweeted the CCTV footage of the incident and appealed to the passengers not to board or alight the moving train.
