The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the petition filed against the verses of the Quran Sharif. Along with this, the Supreme Court has imposed a fine of 50 thousand on the petitioner Wasim Rizvi.
Wasim Rizvi, former chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board, had filed a petition in the Supreme Court for the removal of 26 verses of the Quran. A bench headed by Justice RF Nariman in the Supreme Court heard the petition on Monday. Subsequently, the Supreme Court has dismissed the petition filed against the verses of the Quran. Along with this, the Supreme Court has also imposed a fine of fifty thousand rupees.
During the hearing, the counsel for the petitioner said that I know all the facts about this SLP. On this, the Supreme Court said that this SLP is not writ and how serious you are about your petition. On this, the counsel for the petitioner said that these verses are taught in madrasas, students are misguided by this. By teaching and explaining these verses, terrorists are prepared at the international level. On this, the Supreme Court said that this is a baseless petition. The court also dismissed the petition with a fine of fifty thousand rupees.
Claim: These imports threaten integrity and unity
Rizvi had said in his petition that the 26 verses of the Quran are encouraging terror and should be removed so that the name of the Muslim community cannot be associated with terrorist activities. Before filing the petition, the petitioner Rizvi also sent the original question of precaution and a copy of the petition to 56 registered Islamic organizations and institutions across the country to clarify their stand.
Wasim Rizvi said that when Allahtala has spoken of brotherhood, love, openness, justice, equality, forgiveness, tolerance throughout the Quran Pak, then how can we say things that increase slaughter and guilt, hatred and bigotry in these 26 verses? Muslim youths are being tricked using these verses. Because of this, there is a threat to the unity and integrity of the country.
