Now the Bengal government stood against the Centre's decision to increase the BSF's jurisdiction to 50 km inside the International Border. TMC passed a resolution in the assembly today against increasing the jurisdiction of BSF. The BJP strongly opposed it.
The Union Home Ministry is going to take strict steps to stop the criminal activities happening on the international border with Bangladesh in West Bengal. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is opposing the decision to give the power of arrest, search, and seizure to the BSF in an area up to fifty kilometers within the border.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be on a Delhi tour next week. She is also likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. According to information received from government sources, Mamata Banerjee will leave for Delhi on November 22 and will meet different leaders till November 25.

The jurisdiction of BSF in Gujarat has been reduced from 80 km to 50 km. Apart from the opposition parties, the Punjab government had strongly opposed this decision of the Center. A resolution has been brought against it in the Punjab Assembly.
