Tension continues between the Central Government and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on many issues. Now the Bengal government stood against the Centre's decision to increase the BSF's jurisdiction to 50 km inside the International Border. TMC passed a resolution in the assembly today against increasing the jurisdiction of BSF. The BJP strongly opposed it.

The Union Home Ministry is going to take strict steps to stop the criminal activities happening on the international border with Bangladesh in West Bengal. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is opposing the decision to give the power of arrest, search, and seizure to the BSF in an area up to fifty kilometers within the border.

BJP has opposed the proposal

Earlier, Mamta Banerjee has also written a letter to the Central Government on this issue. A day before, when a proposal was proposed in the assembly on behalf of Mamta Banerjee, the BJP leaders raised slogans while creating a ruckus and boycotted the proceedings and came out.

Mamta Banerjee will go to Delhi next week

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be on a Delhi tour next week. She is also likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. According to information received from government sources, Mamata Banerjee will leave for Delhi on November 22 and will meet different leaders till November 25.

A resolution has been brought against it in the Punjab Assembly as well.

Let us inform you that in the new notification issued recently, BSF has got the right to take this action under the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), Passport Act (Entry into India). Now Border Security Force (BSF) personnel can search, raid and arrest up to 50 km area in Punjab, Assam, and West Bengal.

The jurisdiction of BSF in Gujarat has been reduced from 80 km to 50 km. Apart from the opposition parties, the Punjab government had strongly opposed this decision of the Center. A resolution has been brought against it in the Punjab Assembly.

Mamata Banerjee will bring a resolution against this decision by the government in the West Bengal Assembly today. BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul had said what is the meaning of bringing a resolution. West Bengal has become a 'hub' of terrorists. The state government is not even giving land for fencing the 631 km long border area.
