The Union Health Ministry on Tuesday announced that in the states where assembly elections are due in the next few months, the employees deployed for election duty will be included in the category of Frontline Workers (FLWs). Apart from this, the elderly will not have to present any kind of document for the preparation dose of the corona vaccine.
The central government has announced several measures regarding the possible third wave of corona in the country and the Omicron variant. In this, from January 3, children of 15 to 18 years of age will be given anti-corona vaccine and from January 10, the third and precaution dose of corona vaccine will be administered to the elderly people of 60 years and above suffering from serious diseases (co-morbidities). On Tuesday, the ministry issued some clarifications regarding this.
The Ministry of Health has said this in an official statement released on Tuesday. Clarified that the elderly eligible for Precaution Dose will not have to produce any kind of doctor's certificate while taking additional doses of the vaccine. The ministry said that such elderly people are expected to consult their doctor before taking the precaution dosage.
Vaccines for children online booking or on-site booking will be done both ways
The ministry said that children and adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 years will get the vaccines through online booking or onsite booking (walk-in) both ways. Walk-in vaccination will be done subject to the availability of slots.
