Delhi Police is already in alert mode this year because of the riots that took place on the occasion of Ram Navami in Delhi last year. In many areas of Delhi, the security system of the police is tight.
Deputy Commissioner of Police North West, Delhi Jitendra Meena said that elaborate security arrangements have been made in the Jahangirpuri area on the occasion of Ram Navami. Police are deployed in the entire district. Precautionary arrangements have been made in Jahangirpuri. The procession or Shobha Yatra is not allowed. People can celebrate Ram Navami peacefully in the park.
Police permitted to take out the procession in a limited area
Police have allowed people in Jahangirpuri to take out a Ram Navami procession in a limited area. For this, the police have barricaded within 200 meters radius of Ramlila Maidan of Jahangirpuri. No procession etc. can take place outside this barricading. Every organizer is bound to accept this limit.
Pinky Chowdhary appealed to reach Jahangirpuri
Security has been beefed up in Delhi's Jahangirpuri area. Police say that permission has not been given to take out the Shobha Yatra. But worship can be done in Ramlila Maidan. But Pinky Chowdhary of Hindu Raksha Dal has issued a video urging people to reach Jahangir Puri.
