Another new revelation has emerged in the Delhi bomb blast case. Approximately eight suspects had planned to carry out a series of blasts at four locations. They planned to travel to four cities in groups of two. Each group was to carry several IEDs. Investigating agency sources have revealed this.
It has also emerged that Dr. Muzammil, Dr. Adil, Umar, and Shaheen, the accused in the Red Fort blast, together collected approximately ₹20 lakh in cash. This money was handed over to Umar. Later, they purchased over 20 quintals of NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) fertilizer worth ₹3 lakh from Gurugram, Nuh, and surrounding areas to prepare the IEDs. There was also a financial dispute between Umar and Dr. Muzammil. Umar had created a group of 2-4 members on the Signal app, according to investigating agency sources.
Meanwhile, investigations have revealed that Dr. Umar was planning to carry out a 26/11 attack similar to the 2008 Mumbai attacks in Delhi on December 6, the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition. This is why a large quantity of explosives was stockpiled.
Investigators uncovered this plot during interrogations of eight suspects arrested as part of a white-collar terrorist module from Faridabad. According to agencies, the Red Fort, India Gate, the Constitution Club, and the Gauri Shankar Temple were their targets. Railway stations and shopping malls across the country were also planned.
Meanwhile, Al Falah University, which has come under suspicion, stated that it has only a professional relationship with the two arrested doctors. "We are saddened by this unfortunate development. We are a responsible institution and stand in solidarity with the nation."
Muzammil conducted a recce of the Red Fort in January, with links to Turkey.
Dr. Muzammil Ganai, a member of the white-collar terrorist module arrested from Faridabad, conducted a recce of the Red Fort area several times in January this year. This was revealed by the dump data from his mobile phone.
Investigating agencies believe that there was a recce plot to target this historic monument on January 26th, but the plot was foiled. Muzammil and Umar's Turkiye connection has also been revealed. A senior police officer stated that Muzammil's mobile phone data revealed his frequent presence in and around the Red Fort area during the first week of January.
Muzammil accompanied Umar to the site several times to assess security arrangements and crowd patterns. This was confirmed by tower location data and CCTV footage from nearby areas. Agencies also learned that Umar and Muzammil had visited Turkiye. Immigration stamps from Turkiye were found in their passports.
An investigation is underway to determine whether the two met with a foreign handler there. Muzammil's communications and digital footprints are being analyzed to determine the source of funding and explosives for the module. The Turkiye government, meanwhile, has denied any involvement in terrorist activities. He said, Such news is far from the truth.
