ED questioned Sonia again today: Sonia Gandhi said – Motilal Vora used to watch transactions; 75 questions asked so far in 9 hours

ED will question Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday for the third day in the National Herald case. Sonia has been questioned for 3 hours on 21 July and 6 hours on 26 July. Congress will again conduct satyagraha across the country today on Sonia's interrogation.

 

During interrogation, Sonia said - Vora used to watch the fund

 

Times of India quoted ED sources as saying that during interrogation Sonia Gandhi said – all transactions related to Congress, Associate Journal, and Young Indian were seen by former treasurer Motilal Vora. ED sources said that 75 questions have been asked to Sonia Gandhi during the interrogation for 2 days. Around 25 questions were asked on the first day.

 

50 MPs including Rahul taken into custody

 

On Tuesday, 50 Congress MPs including Rahul Gandhi were detained by the Delhi Police. These MPs were released after Sonia's interrogation was over. All the MPs were detained during the protest at Vijay Chowk near Parliament. After being taken into custody, Rahul said – the country has been made a police state.

The Congress has called a meeting of all the big leaders at the Congress headquarters because the ED questioned Sonia Gandhi. At the same time, a meeting of MPs will also be held in the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Mallikarjun Kharge.

During the protest on Tuesday, Youth Congress President BV Srinivas was beaten up by some Delhi Police personnel by pulling his hair. The top police officers swung into action after its video went viral on social media. The police issued a statement saying that action will be taken against the guilty officials.

 

Know about the National Herald case

 

The National Herald case was first raised by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy in 2012. In August 2014, the ED took suo motu cognizance of the case and filed a money laundering case. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Congress's Motilal Vora, Oscar Fernandez, Sam Pitroda, and Suman Dubey were made accused in the case.
