Elevated walkway to come up at Dakshineswar temple: Mamata

Kolkata, March 17 (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday attended the foundation stone laying ceremony of a Rs.65 crore elevated walkway project that will connect different forms of transport to the famed Dakshineswar Kali temple.

"Today I was present in the foundation stone laying ceremony of a unique 'Sky Walk' project in Dakshineswar. It will be an exclusive elevated walkway connecting bus stand, railway station, taxi stand, auto stand directly to the temple, which the visitors can use to reach the temple very smoothly, avoiding traffic congestion on Rani Rashmoni Road.

"The project costing about Rs.65 crore will be completed in 18 months time," she said in a Facebook post.

"We also felicitated the medal winners from Bengal in the 35th National Games. We are proud of them," she said.
