National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur has started a better facility for its students. The institute has decided that now the students will be given eight years to complete their degree. That is, if students leave their course in the middle, then they will be able to complete their degree at any time for its eight-year period. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the students who want to pursue a more professional degree or drop out of their studies due to various reasons.
Know important rules
Students studying at NIT, Jamshedpur will not be harmed if they leave their course in the middle. Students can also return to NITs to finish their engineering. However, there is also a condition in this that the student must have studied in the institute for at least two years. Only after this will those who leave the institute get a chance to return. Earlier, the admission of students was canceled after leaving the course after studying in the institute for three years. Under the new policy, students will be given academic point credit in their virtual academic credit bank for two years of studies. After this, students can take a gap in the middle of their studies. Within 8 years students will be able to come anytime and complete their studies.
The decision in Senate meeting
Director of NIT Jamshedpur Prof. This new policy was discussed in the 38th meeting of the Senate of the Institute held under the chairmanship of Dr. KK Shukla. After this and after discussion in the Board of Studies (BOS), it has been agreed to implement it. However, this policy will be implemented in a phased manner instead of a complete one.
