London, Feb 19 (IANS) Former England captain Paul Collingwood has said Peter Moores may lose his job as national coach if he is unable to produce the desired results in the World Cup.
England suffered an embarrassing 111-run defeat against Australia at the quadrennial event opener - their ninth loss in the last 13 one-day internationals.
"In the industry we are in, it comes down to results," Collingwood was quoted as saying by bbc.com.
"Things will have to change around quickly if he doesn't want the pressure on his shoulders.
"If you are a batsman who doesn't put runs on the board, or a bowler who doesn't take wickets, you get dropped and it's exactly the same with a coach. If you don't get results, people will be looking at your job," the 38-year-old said.
Collingwood scored 5,092 runs and picked up 111 wickets from 197 one-dayers and is presently working with the Scotland cricket team as support staff in the World Cup.
