Recognizing the immense contribution of Dr. Singh in the field of academia and his service to society and the nation, Kalgidhar Society Baru Sahib has decided to establish 'Dr. Manmohan Singh Chair in Development Economics' in Akal University, Talwandi Sabo (Punjab).
The visionary ideas of the former PM will get a boost.
This chair will advance research on his visionary ideas, promote a deeper understanding of economic development, and inspire future generations to follow in his footsteps. Kalgidhar Society, also known as 'Badu Sahib', is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing quality low-cost education, healthcare services, and social welfare through 130 Akal Academies.
Established with a vision of socio-economic upliftment, the institution is helping to positively transform rural areas of North India through its various initiatives.
What is the objective of this initiative?
It runs several educational institutions, including two universities, healthcare facilities, and social service projects, to create a better and more equitable society.
