
The Supreme Court has overturned the decision to send dogs to shelter homes. The apex court overturned the decision of the double bench and said that all the dogs sent to the shelter home should be released.
The bench headed by Justice Vikram Nath has also said that all the dogs to be released should not be released without sterilization. Apart from this, the court has also banned dog feeding at public places.
The three-judge bench has given the order and said that violent and sick animals will be kept in shelter homes for the time being.
Notice to other states as well
The apex court has given notice to the governments of other states as well while giving orders on the dogs of Delhi-NCR. Apart from this, the court has directed the government to consider a possible law. The Supreme Court has said in the order that helpline numbers should be issued for dogs.
Action should be taken against NGOs creating obstacles: SC
The three-judge bench has given the verdict and said that these rules will be applicable in the whole country. Along with this, it has been said that there should be permission to feed dogs only at designated places.
Along with this, the court has made it clear that if any NGO is coming in the way of implementing the rules regarding dogs, then action should be taken against it as well.
