Covid-19 Update: 4 patients died in 24 hours due to coronavirus in the country, and 113 people have died so far; Know how many active cases are there

The new variant of Corona (Covid-19 Update) has engulfed many people across the country and four patients have died in the last 24 hours. 2 patients in Maharashtra and 1 each in Delhi and Kerala have died of Corona.

 

How many deaths have occurred so far?

 

According to the Health Department, a total of 113 people have died due to Corona from January till now since the beginning of the year 2025. Kerala has the highest number of deaths at 36 and then Maharashtra at 31. There have also been 13 deaths in Delhi.

 

There are 6483 active cases of Corona in 32 states and union territories of the country. Kerala has reported the highest number of 1384 cases. Gujarat has 1105 and West Bengal has 747 active cases.

 

Corona update in states

Uttar Pradesh: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has issued instructions to take precautions regarding the increasing cases of Corona. Top health officials have asked all hospitals to keep essential medicines, PPE kits, testing facilities, isolation beds, oxygen cylinders, ICU, and ventilators ready.

 

Nagaland: The first case of corona was reported in Nagaland on Monday. The case was registered in Dimapur. The health official said that the patient has mild symptoms and is in isolation at home.

 

Kerala: The Health Department has instructed hospitals to follow the COVID guidelines issued in June 2023 while treating patients with symptoms of COVID-19 and influenza.

 

Karnataka: A 25-bed COVID ward has been set up at Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences. Of these, 5-5 beds are for the ICU (including ventilator), High Dependency Unit, and five for pregnant women. The remaining 10 are normal beds.

Amid rising cases of corona in the country, four new variants of COVID have been found. ICMR Director Dr. Rajiv Bahl said that the variants sequenced from South and West India belong to the LF.7, XFG, JN.1, and NB.1.8.1 series.

 

However, the World Health Organization has not considered these variants as worrisome. The variants kept under surveillance have been categorized. This variant has been found in the increasing cases of corona in other Asian countries including China.
