The first computerized draw for admission in classes II to IX will be conducted on Tuesday for 20 percent Economically Backward Classes (EWS) seats in private schools. Once the school is allotted, parents will have to report to the school by September 15 along with the necessary documents. If the parents do not enroll the child within this stipulated time limit, then their candidature will be considered canceled. Whereas the school once allotted will not be changed.
The Directorate of Education is conducting the first computerized draw on Tuesday after the completion of the application process, which lasted from August 18 to 25, for admission to these EWS seats. The Directorate has also issued guidelines in this regard. It states that once a child is allotted a school, it will not be changed. The students who will be selected will have to give information through SMS within 24 hours. Schools will also have to put the list of selected children at the main gate of the school. Parents will also have to carry original documents for document verification.
Schools will not refuse admission if they do not have an Aadhar card. It is to be noted that children of Delhi residents whose parents' annual income is less than one lakh are eligible for admission to schools. Preparing to connect school-dropped children in the age group of six to 14 years with education
Preparations are on to connect children in the age group of six to 14 years, who have dropped out or have never gone to school in the capital. Special training centers have been set up for them under Samagra Shiksha. For this, the house-to-house survey will be done. A circular has been issued in this regard by the Department of Composite Education, Directorate of Education. The classes of the centers will be held in government, government-aided MCD and NDMC, and Delhi Cantonment Board schools.
An NGO working in the field of education will conduct the classes. The duration of training shall be for a minimum period of three months which may be extended for a maximum period of two years depending upon the assessment to be done by the Head of the School. The Directorate of Education has clarified that the school head will not transfer the child who is already studying in the school. The centers are only for out-of-school children who have never enrolled or dropped out of school. The Directorate has said that the center should have a maximum of thirty children. New centers will also be opened in the third phase.
