17 days have been completed in the ongoing farmers' agitation on the Shambhu and Khanauri borders of Punjab-Haryana demanding MSP purchase guarantee law and other demands. After the FIR was registered late on Wednesday night, the board of doctors at Rajindra Hospital in Patiala conducted the post-mortem of the body of martyr Shubhakaran at the Khanauri border and the last rites were performed by the farmers in Ballo village of Bathinda after paying tribute.
Due to this, there was commotion at the Shambhu border the whole day on Thursday and a huge crowd reached there. Not only this, women, children, and elderly people were also seen raising slogans against the Central and Haryana governments. Retired soldiers, commission agents, businessmen, and people from other states also reached the Shambhu border on Thursday.
Due to the funeral of Shubhakaran, the morning meeting at the Shambhu border was postponed to late evening as the key leadership was present in Bathinda. Some farmer leaders present there are saying that the decision to march to Delhi will be announced late at night.
There is no decrease in the spirit of women and children
There was no decrease in the enthusiasm of the women who came from the farmers' families. While holding the mike in their hands, they were seen raising slogans against the Central and Haryana government, while also giving detailed information about the MSP and other demands being sought by the farmers to make people aware. In their struggle, children were also seen shouting slogans.
On the border itself, langars of milk, lassi, kheer, laddu, dal, and roti were kept running at various places so that the thousands of people who arrived there did not remain hungry. Posters of Bhindranwala, Amritpal, and Deep Sidhu have also been put up on the Shambhu border. Apart from this, a separate trolley has been converted into a hut for women to live in. At the same time, the youth was seen sitting on the stand in front of the tractors and shouting slogans which kept on instilling enthusiasm among the youth.
Nurses are also serving injured farmers at the Shambhu border
Even after being injured in an accident at the Shambhu border, nurse Heena is seen serving the injured farmers. Heena said that she is a staff nurse in Jalandhar by profession. A few days ago, she had an accident due to which she got injured in her knee and she could not walk completely. Despite this, for the last 17 days, she has brought medicines along with her colleagues to the farmers' protest, considering service to the farmers as her religion.
Not only this, about 10 permanent clinics are running on the Shambhu border which are treating every disease of the farmers. More than 12 ambulances are standing ready all the time on the border. If any farmer's health deteriorates, they immediately get him admitted to the hospital. Fire brigade vehicles are also present at the spot for 24 hours so that no untoward incident happens.
