New Delhi. The army has banned the use of 89 apps for soldiers and officers. News agency ANI quoted sources as saying that they should delete 89 apps from their smartphones. These include apps like Facebook, Tiktok, True Caller, Instagram. Sources said that there is a possibility of information leaking from these apps.
An army official said that for some time, officers related to the army have been targeted by intelligence agencies of Pakistan and China. Hence this step was taken. In November last year, army soldiers were given directions not to use WhatsApp for official work. At the same time, officials looking into sensitive matters were asked to delete Facebook account.
