The fire that started in the afternoon was so fierce that it could be seen from a distance of more than two kilometers. Three experts from Singapore firm Alert Disaster Control were on the spot when the well opened fire. At that time some equipment was being removed from the well.
According to the information, 35,000 people from 700 families were sent to three relief camps as the leak began. Environment and Forests Minister Parimal Sukhabaidya said that the Assam government is doing its best to control the fire in the gas well. The situation is uncontrolled until now. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has spoken to the ministers of the central government. The Assam government is doing its best to control the fire and officials are working to control the situation.
