Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman fiercely targeted Congress during a press conference on Tuesday regarding the Antrix-Devas deal. He said that there was only misuse of resources during the Congress rule.

Congress had done fraud deal

Nirmala Sitharaman said that the then Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal had held a press conference on this, but even a cabinet note on the matter was not mentioned from his side. The Union Finance Minister said that I want to talk about the Supreme Court's decision on the Dewas-Antrix issue. The Supreme Court has given a comprehensive order in this matter. The deal, which happened in 2005, was canceled by the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) in 2011. The Finance Minister said that it was a fraudulent deal.

Congress should give information to the people of the country

Giving information, the Finance Minister said that in 2005 this deal was finalized between Antrix and Dewas. This was a great betrayal of the country and the people of the country. He said that the player of this master game is Congress. The Supreme Court order clearly shows how the UPA government had adopted the wrong tactics. Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Antrix-Dewas deal was completely against national security. How this kind of fraud was done with the people of India, now it is the turn of the Congress party to tell.

Referred to the order of the Supreme Court

Nirmala Sitharaman further said that now it should be Congress's turn to answer how the cabinet was kept in the dark. They should have no moral right to speak about crony capitalism. Along with this, the Finance Minister, referring to the order of the Supreme Court, said that the Supreme Court has upheld the decision of liquidation of Devas Multimedia to raise funds by selling it.

UPA misused power

Speaking on the Devas-Antrix issue, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that this is a complete betrayal of Congress, for Congress, and by Congress. He has accused the Congress-led UPA government of misusing power to sell the S-band spectrum, which was used for national security.
