Naresh Tikait threatens, will set lives on fire, said in Meerut Kisan Panchayat – Tikait family is not like Vikas Dubey

Let us tell you that in the districts of western Uttar Pradesh including Meerut, farmers' anger erupted on Monday against the installation of electricity meters on tube wells. The farmers brought with them the meters installed on the tubewells and under the leadership of the National President of BKU, Naresh Tikait, surrounded the Urja Bhavan. The farmers reached Urja Bhavan by putting the tricolor on the tractor. After the gherao, and dharna demonstration, Naresh Tikait along with the delegation held talks with PVVNL MD Arvind Malappa Bangari. The MD assured them that their demands would be conveyed to the government. After that, the farmers stopped the dharna, demonstration. BKU President Naresh Tikait said that injustice will not be allowed to the farmers.

 

On Monday, farmers from different districts of Meerut, Saharanpur, and Moradabad divisions reached Urja Bhavan by bus, and tractor-trolley under the leadership of Bhakiyu in protest against the electricity meter on tubewells. Many farmers brought the meter uprooted from the tube well. Farmers sat on dharna by putting up tents in Urja Bhavan. Naresh Tikait waited till noon. After two o'clock Naresh Tikait reached here. Told everyone that the movement should be peaceful. The fight is with the system. Farmers are suffering. The government now wants to harass the farmers further by installing meters on the tube wells. The dharna demonstration, gherao continued till around four o'clock in the evening.

 

After that, on behalf of PVVNL MD, Naresh Tikait was invited for talks. National Secretary Ompal Malik, National Vice President Kushalpal Arya, West Zone President Pawan Khatana, Circle President Guddu Pradhan, Youth District President of Meerut Anurag Choudhary, Babban Choudhary, etc. held talks with MD along with BKIU President Naresh Tikait. Naresh Tikait said that the meter on tubewell is the oppression of farmers. it should be closed. The MD said that it would be brought to the notice of the government. Farmers will not be oppressed. Naresh Tikait called the talks positive and ended the agitation.
