According to the news agency PTI, a meeting was held between India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and top Chinese diplomat Wang Yi in Johannesburg two days ago. Regarding this meeting, the Chinese Foreign Ministry claimed that Xi Jinping and Modi had reached an important consensus on stabilizing bilateral relations during the G20 summit.

Last year after dinner in Bali, PM Modi and President Xi Jinping exchanged greetings and talked about the need to stabilize bilateral relations between the two countries, MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said.
Bagchi said, 'As you are aware, we have firmly stated that the key to resolving the entire issue is to resolve the situation on the LAC (Line of Actual Control) on the western sector of the India-China border and restore peace and tranquility in the border areas.
