G-20 Summit Bali: A picture has surfaced of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping, in which both the leaders are shaking hands with each other. During this, the Ministry of External Affairs has given information about the conversation between the two on 27 July.

 

The Ministry of External Affairs said that the two leaders accepted each other's greetings and talked about the need to stabilize bilateral relations. Last year in 2022, the G-20 summit was organized in Bali, Indonesia. Both the leaders had met during the dinner of this summit.

 

Meeting of a Chinese diplomat and Ajit Doval

According to the news agency PTI, a meeting was held between India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and top Chinese diplomat Wang Yi in Johannesburg two days ago. Regarding this meeting, the Chinese Foreign Ministry claimed that Xi Jinping and Modi had reached an important consensus on stabilizing bilateral relations during the G20 summit.

 

What did Arindam Bagchi say about the PM Modi-Xinfing meeting?

Last year after dinner in Bali, PM Modi and President Xi Jinping exchanged greetings and talked about the need to stabilize bilateral relations between the two countries, MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said.

 

Bagchi said, 'As you are aware, we have firmly stated that the key to resolving the entire issue is to resolve the situation on the LAC (Line of Actual Control) on the western sector of the India-China border and restore peace and tranquility in the border areas. ' His remarks came when he was asked about China's claim of consensus reached during talks between the two top leaders in Bali.

 

First meeting after India-China border standoff

After brief talks between PM Modi and Xi in Bali, the Ministry of External Affairs said that they exchanged courtesies. This was the first public meeting of the two leaders after the India-China border standoff began in May 2020.
