Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested in the Delhi Excise Scam case, had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against his arrest. However, he withdrew his petition from the Supreme Court.

The lawyer told the reason to the Supreme Court

Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Arvind Kejriwal, told the Supreme Court that Kejriwal is withdrawing the petition in the Supreme Court because he has to appear during the day.

Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, mentioned the matter before a bench headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna and said since the remand proceedings are before the trial court during the day, it will clash with the hearing in the apex court, he should This petition should be allowed to be withdrawn.

The top court gave permission to go to trial court

Justice Khanna told Singhvi, "You can first go to the trial court. Just write an e-mail to the registry." Singhvi said, "I will write a letter to the registry. I had to mention it again before this court so that it is convenient for your lordship."

The move came hours after Justice Khanna told Singhvi that Kejriwal's plea against his arrest would be heard by a three-judge bench during the day. Kejriwal had moved the Supreme Court late on Thursday night after being arrested by the ED.

He was arrested hours after the Delhi High Court refused to grant protection to the Aam Aadmi Party national convenor from any coercive action by the agency.
