The exercise to finalize the security preparations for the G-20 summit starting on September 8 is in full swing. Under the leadership of the Ministries of External Affairs, Home and Defence, all central security agencies and the Delhi Police have prepared a foolproof blueprint for the security system.
All arrangements have been made in 18 hotels in Delhi and Gurugram for the stay of the heads of 29 countries, their group of ministers, and officials of international organizations who will come to India to participate in the conference. After booking the said hotels were checked by all the agencies, and now all the hotels are being checked again. Other people will not be able to stay in these hotels reserved for the heads of state.
According to a top official of the security unit, soon these hotels will be taken over, and paramilitary will be deployed there regularly. Embassy officials of all countries are also keeping a regular watch on the said hotels.
Officers will stay in these hotels
One DCP rank officer will be posted in each hotel and will look after the security arrangements. Delhi's Le Meridien, Maurya Sheraton, Imperial, Hyatt, Oberoi, The Lalit, Taj Palace, Shangri-La, The Lodhi, Grand, Taj Mahal, Pullman, Claridge's, The Leela, JW Marriott and ITC Maurya and Leela Ambience in Gurugram and Heads of state, ministers, and officials of international organizations will stay in Oberoi.
The arrival of foreign guests will start in these hotels from September 7 itself. According to sources, all 24 bulletproof vehicles from Germany have arrived in Delhi. Of these, 20 are Audi and four are Mercedes. Security exercise is being done for a few days by including these vehicles in the convoy.
