General Bipin Rawat was determined. When we said that we will not back down and we will stand firm and allow China to back down, China dragged its feet after a difficult time of 74-75 days.
He said that after the departure of Bipin Rawat, the country lost a patriot, visionary, strategic thinker, and the Indian Army a good general. General Rawat's daughters were also present in the release program of this book.
Rawat was martyred in a helicopter crash in Coonoor on December 8 last year. Doval said the death of General Bipin Rawat is a personal loss to the country. I had a personal equation with him. On December 8, 2021, General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, and 11 others lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Others killed in the crash included his Defense Advisor Brigadier Lakhbinder Singh Lidder, Staff Officer Lt Col Harjinder Singh, Wing Commander PS Chauhan, Squadron Leader K Singh, JWO Das, Junior Warrant Officer Pradeep A, Havildar Satpal, Naik Gursewak Singh, Naik Jitendra Kumar, Lance Naik Vivek Kumar, and Lance Naik Sai Teja.
