Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who left the Congress and formed the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), has given a big statement. A video of Azad is going viral on social media.
Hinduism is older than Islam. All Muslims were Hindus earlier. Muslims in our country have come after conversion from Hindus. All Muslims in Kashmir are converts from Kashmiri Pandits. Everyone was born in the Hindu religion only.
This video of Ghulam Nabi Azad is being told from the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. Ghulam Nabi Azad while addressing a gathering at a government school in Chiralla village of Doda on 9 August said that Kashmiri Muslims were converted to Islam from Kashmiri Pandits and there was Hinduism before Islam.
Ghulam Nabi Azad said that Islam came into existence in India 1500 years ago whereas Hinduism is older than Islam. There would be 10-20 Muslims who would be soldiers of the Mughal army and would have come to India. Otherwise, the whole of India is Hindu and its example is present in Kashmir. 600 hundred years ago there were no Muslims in Kashmir and all Kashmiri Pandits were there.
India's Muslims were originally Hindus: Azad
Azad said that no one is an outsider in India. We all belong to this country. The Muslims of India were originally Hindus, who converted later. Azad said that 'we have not come from outside, it is the produce of this soil'. It is to end in this soil.
Everyone was born in Hinduism: Azad
He said that some leaders of our BJP told that some have come from outside and some have come from inside. I said that no one came from inside or outside. All were born in the Hindu religion. Kashmiri Pandits accepted Islam, that's why I said that all people were born in Hinduism. When our Hindu brothers die, they are burnt. The remains are then dumped into the river, which goes into the water bodies. That water is also used for irrigation and that again we use in the form of crops. They drink it too.
Religion has nothing to do with politics: Azad
This is how Muslims bury their dead and those who eventually mix with the soil. Both Hindus and Muslims will eventually return to the soil and this is all politics. Those who resort to religion in politics are weak. He said that 'religion has nothing to do with politics'. People should not take votes in the name of religion.
If someone takes votes in the name of religion, it hinders the progress of the country and spreads hatred. Religion has no place in our party. Azad has appealed to the people that we should come together for the development of our state.
