The coronavirus epidemic has spoiled the economic condition of the people of the country. The government is doing everything possible to provide relief to the people. Now the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has taken a major decision to provide relief to its subscribers because of the impact of the second wave of epidemic in the country. Subscribers can take advantage of non-refundable Covid advances for the second time.
In March 2020 too, the government had granted the advance facility to EPF subscribers under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY). Today, the Labor Ministry has allowed the withdrawal of the second non-refundable Covid-19 advance, relieving its subscribers of the second wave of the pandemic in the country. Under this, you can withdraw 75% of the amount deposited in your PF account or an amount equal to three months' salary (basic salary and dearness allowance) (whichever is less) from the account.
Money deposited in the account in just 72 hours
Claims are being settled through auto mode on online claims under Covid-19 and money is coming to your account in just 72 hours. At present, EPFO has around six crore account holders. From 1 April 2020 to 12 May 2021, 72 lakh employees have availed Non-Refundable Covid-19 Fund (Covid Advance) for a total of Rs 18,500 crore. In FY 2019, EPFO settled claims worth Rs 81,200 crore from about 1.63 crore account holders.
