In India, 8,309 corona cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. At the same time, 236 people have also lost their lives due to Corona during this period. Meanwhile, because of the threat of the Omicron variant of the virus, the Indian government Monday issued a new guideline for international travelers. According to this, all passengers coming from 'at risk' countries will have to undergo a Kovid-19 test as soon as they arrive. The condition of testing will be applicable even if the incoming passengers are fully vaccinated.
Except for 'at risk' countries, passengers from other countries will be allowed out of the airport. They will have to do self-monitoring for 14 days. In countries that have been excluded from Omicron's danger category, 5% of the passengers coming from there will be tested.
Highlights of the Guidelines
Passengers coming from countries placed in the 'at risk' category will have to undergo a test at the airport.
The outgoing passengers will be required to give the RT-PCR report of the test done 72 hours ago.
Passengers found positive will be isolated, genome sequencing of the sample will be done.
Passengers found negative will be able to go home, but will have to remain isolated for 7 days. Such passengers will be tested again on the 8th day and will have to do self-monitoring for the next 7 days.
In countries that have been excluded from Omicron's danger category, 5 percent of the passengers coming from there will be tested.
States should also monitor travelers coming from abroad, increase testing and also monitor corona hotspots.
12 countries placed in 'at risk' countries
Let us inform you that the Central Government has prepared a list of 12 countries, where the risk of new variants is high. These include all countries of Europe including the UK, South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Israel.
States asked to increase surveillance
In the new guideline, the states have also been asked to increase the monitoring and testing of travelers coming from abroad as well as to monitor the corona hotspots.
Passengers from 'at risk' countries will remain at the airport till the test report arrives
According to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, passengers coming from 'at risk' countries will have to get tested at the airport. You will have to wait for the result at the airport itself. If the report is negative then they will be in-home quarantine for 7 days. On the 8th day, there will be a test again and if it is negative, then self-monitoring will have to be done for the next 7 days.
