There has been a ruckus in Gujarat over the statement of Gujarat Congress President Jagdish Thakor. Angered by Thakor's remarks, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) put up posters of 'Haj House' at the Congress office. Thakor had said in a Congress program that the minorities have the first right on the country's property.

While addressing the minority convention of Gujarat Congress, Thakor had said this while referring to the statement of former PM Manmohan Singh. Assembly elections are going to be held in Gujarat this year and politics are hot about it. The VHP has protested Thakor's statement and demanded that the Congress office be named Haj House.

Thakor had said that Dr. Manmohan Singh had said that the minorities have the first right on the property of the country. Along with this, Thakor had appealed to the Muslims to support the Congress in the upcoming elections. He had also said that he would demand from the party leadership that a manifesto should be issued for Muslims also. You know who is behind the riots in the country and how they benefited from it. We should not fall into their trap. Congress has always stood with minorities. She will never change her ideology, whether she is in power or not.

Removed controversial posters

Hindu organizations were furious at this statement Thakor. Bajrang Dal and VHP workers put up posters of Haj House outside Congress office in Ahmedabad. However, these were removed this morning so that the ruckus does not escalate.
