According to the Meteorological Department, the sky is likely to remain cloudy in Delhi for the next few days. There is a possibility of a dust storm and light rain today i.e. on Friday evening.

 

Red alert for heavy rain in Assam

 

A 'red alert' has been issued for extremely heavy rains in most parts of Assam. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Friday that the government is ready to face any emergency. Heavy rains are also occurring in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya, which has worsened the situation in Assam.

 

It has been raining heavily in Guwahati since Thursday night. Almost all areas of the city are waterlogged. The power connection of nine lakh people has been cut off in the state. According to the data of the Regional Meteorological Center, 'red alert' has been issued in many districts of the state.

Five people died in separate incidents due to heavy rains in all 14 districts of Kerala on Friday. Two people are reported missing from Malappuram. Life in the state has been disrupted due to rain. About two thousand houses have been partially damaged across the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in many districts. About two thousand people have been accommodated in 60 relief camps. Most of the trains in the state are running late on Friday.

 

Three killed in Meghalaya, search for missing couple from Indore will resume today.

 

Three persons, including an elderly woman and a minor, died due to heavy rains in the last 24 hours in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. Officials gave this information on Friday. More than a thousand people have been affected in 25 villages. Meanwhile, the search and rescue operation of the couple from Indore in Madhya Pradesh will resume on Saturday.

Light to moderate rains have also been recorded over Tamil Nadu, Marathwada, South Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Odisha and some parts of Rajasthan.
