This time the monsoon is raining like a havoc. From the mountains to the plains, the rain has disrupted life. Traffic has come to a standstill. The Meteorological Department also says that the period of rain will continue in North India and the mountains.

35 people have also died due to landslides caused by heavy rains on the Vaishno Devi Yatra route in Jammu.

Even after wreaking havoc in Delhi-NCR, UP, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan, the rain is not taking the name of stopping.

Alert regarding landslides even today

It has been raining continuously for several days in the hilly areas. Due to this, an alert has been issued regarding landslides and road closures in areas like Jammu. However, the temperature is also likely to decrease slightly due to rain.

Mahajan on the Chandigarh-Kullu highway

Kullu is bearing the brunt of the landslide the most. Thousands of trucks are stuck due to landslides on the Chandigarh-Kullu highway, due to which apples, tomatoes, and other vegetables are getting completely spoiled. The road has been opened for small vehicles here, but thousands of trucks are still stuck.

534 roads closed in Himachal Pradesh, 310 dead

534 roads have had to be closed due to continuous torrential rains in Himachal Pradesh. While 1,184 power distribution transformers have been disrupted. The SDMA said that the death toll in Himachal Pradesh due to landslides, flash floods, and house collapses has risen to 310 across the state.

Kullu-Mandi in bad condition

Most of the roads were damaged in Kullu, where 166 roads, including a national highway, are closed. After this, 216 roads were closed in Mandi. Power cuts were the highest in Kullu (600 transformers disrupted) and Mandi (320 transformers), while water supply was worst affected in Kangra.

Heavy rains cause loss of crores

This disaster has also caused heavy damage to infrastructure and livelihoods. While heavy damage is being reported from landslides in Jammu, the total estimated loss to public property in Himachal is more than Rs 2.45 lakh crore.

In this, the Public Works Department (PWD) has reported a loss of Rs 1.31 lakh crore due to road damage, the Jal Shakti Department (JSV) has reported a loss of Rs 87,226 crore due to water supply and irrigation, and the power sector has reported a loss of Rs 13,946 crore to power infrastructure.
