US President Joe Biden plans to announce on Thursday that the US will buy 500 million doses of Pfizer and donate to 92 low- and middle-income countries and the African Union. This historic step will help in the fight against this pandemic across the world.

The White House said ahead of Biden's announcement at the G-7 summit in Britain that it was the largest purchase and donation of vaccines by any single country and urged the American people to help protect people around the world from COVID-19 Commitment.

Biden has arrived in Britain on his first overseas trip to Europe. The White House said Biden would also call on other democracies around the world to contribute to the global supply of safe and effective vaccines. The purpose of today's donation is to save lives and end this pandemic.

Vaccine supply will start from August

The supply of vaccines will start in August 2021. A total of 200 million vaccines will be supplied by the end of this year and the remaining 300 million will be given in the first six months of 2022.

The White House said that the US will also allocate these vaccines to low- and middle-income countries through Covax.
