A bench headed by Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi of the Karnataka High Court will pronounce its verdict on it this morning. Section 144 implemented in many districts
Section 144 has been imposed in many districts regarding the decision on the hijab dispute. Along with this, schools and colleges will also remain closed during this period. Dakshina Kannada DC Dr. Rajendra KV said that the external examinations will be held as per the schedule, but internal examinations of all schools and colleges will be postponed.

How did the controversy start?

Muslim girl students had said during the hearing that the hijab is not a part of religious tradition, but it shows their faith in religion, due to which hijab should not be seen about religion. The hearing in the case was completed last month.
State government's argument
During the hearing in the High Court, arguments were also given on behalf of the state government. The government pointed out that the hijab is not a necessary part of religious tradition. The government had said that religion should be kept away from educational institutions. The government says that Muslim girl students can come to the school compound wearing a hijab, but wearing a hijab cannot be allowed inside the class.
