These two leaders did not vote in favor of the bill
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi and AIMIM MP Imtiaz Jaleel did not vote in favor of this bill. Owaisi, while participating in the discussion regarding this bill, questioned the government in the Lok Sabha as to why there is no quota for OBC and Muslim women in it, while their representation in the House is very low.

He indicated that the government is ready to openly accept suggestions on the bill and amendments can be made if necessary. Law Minister Arjunram Meghwal said that the issue of women's reservation has been pending for the last 27 years and now the time has come to implement it.

Shah said that the government has brought this bill not due to electoral compulsion, but due to the natural inspiration of women empowerment.
