Aam Aadmi Party's national convener Arvind Kejriwal will visit Gujarat today and announce another 'guarantee' to the people of the state. AAP's national joint general secretary Isudan Gadhvi told reporters on Tuesday that the Delhi chief minister would hold a town hall meeting in Ahmedabad during his one-day visit.
Gadhvi said the new 'guarantee' would be for the benefit of the "2.5 crore people" of Gujarat, which would be announced ahead of Raksha Bandhan. Kejriwal was in Gujarat last weekend and is frequently visiting various districts, where the ruling BJP and opposition Congress are major political forces, as part of a strategy to position his party as a contender for power in the state.
People excited by Kejriwal's announcement of free electricity guarantee: Gadvi
Gadhvi said that people are very excited about the announcement of a free electricity guarantee by Kejriwal (during his earlier visit). Even BJP workers are excited about this and are asking why the BJP government has not given them so much relief. He claimed that the BJP is scared of such guarantees and has therefore moved the Supreme Court against the relief measures, citing a petition filed in the Supreme Court on pre-poll announcements by political parties.
