I2U2 Summit: PM Modi said – Cooperative framework is a good model of cooperation amidst global uncertainties

I2U2 Summit: The first meeting of the leaders of the I2U2 group countries took place today. India, Israel, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the United States (US) hosted the first meeting of the leaders of the I2U2 Group on joint investments and new initiatives in water, energy, transportation, space, and health and food security. By mobilizing our mutual strength, capital, expertise, and markets, we can accelerate our agenda and make a significant contribution to the global economy. Our cooperative framework is also a good model for practical cooperation amid increasing global uncertainty.

 

What did US President Joe Biden say?

 

At the I2U2 group's first leaders meeting, US President Joe Biden said that the challenges we face today include an increasing climate crisis or growing food insecurity. Volatile energy markets have been made worse by Russia's brutal and unprovoked attack against Ukraine. This is just the beginning, over the next 3 years this group (I2U2) is going to work to identify new infrastructure projects that we can invest in and develop together. If we stay together we can do a lot.

 

Israel's PM said this at the I2U2 summit

 

In this meeting, Israel's Prime Minister Yair Lapid said that the real solution will come only through countries that know how to bring resources together. We want to change this for the betterment of the world. Our goal is to make the private market a participant. Despite being in 4 different countries, it is clear that we all want the same thing. Which includes the development of infrastructure, quality education for children, and minimizing the damage to the environment.
