All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has warned the government on the Waqf Amendment Bill-2024. He said that this will create social instability in the country. He also said that this bill has been rejected by the entire Muslim community.

In the Lok Sabha, Owaisi said that I am cautioning and warning this government that 'if you bring and make the Waqf law in its current form, it will create social instability in the country. This will violate Articles 25, 26 and 14 of the Constitution. The bill has been rejected by the entire Muslim community. No Waqf property will be saved, nothing will be saved.'
We want to develop India
Owaisi further said, "You want to make India a 'developed India'. We want 'developed India'. You want to take this country back to the 80s and early 90s, it will be your responsibility."
Can't take away my property
The AIMIM chief said, "As a proud Indian Muslim, I will not let even an inch of my mosque be lost. I will not lose even an inch of my dargah. I will not let this happen. We will no longer come here and have diplomatic talks. This is the House where I have to stand and speak honestly that my community, we are proud Indians. This is my property, not given by anyone. You cannot take it away from me. For me, Waqf is a form of worship."
Two MPs raised objections.
Earlier in the day, opposition MPs Kalyan Banerjee and Mohammad Nadimul Haque strongly opposed the deletion of key portions from their dissent notes submitted to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf Amendment Bill-2024. In a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, the MPs alleged that their objections had been arbitrarily deleted without any prior notice or explanation.
"We are disappointed and extremely surprised to learn that the following motions and dissent notes have been deleted by the Speaker without informing us and without our consent," the MPs wrote in their letter dated February 3.
