
When the police stopped the people forcibly taking out a Moharram procession on a prohibited route in Ujjain, a ruckus broke out. The people involved in the procession broke the barricades. There was a scuffle with the police personnel. Five policemen were injured in this.
The police lathicharged and dispersed the crowd. An FIR has been registered against 15 people in this case. Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma said that during the Moharram procession, some people were forcibly entering the prohibited route, Abdalpura, with horses.

One person died. According to DM Manish Bansal, samples of the drinks and food items distributed have been taken. All were admitted to hospitals after vomiting and diarrhea.
