New Zealand off-spinner Michael Bracewell on Friday dismissed any talk of India getting an unfair advantage by playing all its matches in Dubai in the ongoing Champions Trophy, saying his team is excited to play in different conditions. Rohit Sharma's team is playing all its matches in Dubai and if the Indian team manages to reach the final, the title match of the tournament will also be played there.

India-New Zealand match on Sunday

New Zealand will play its next match against India in Dubai on Sunday. It had played both its previous matches in Pakistan. Some cricketers, including South Africa's top-order batsman Rassie van der Dussen and Australia captain Pat Cummins (ruled out of the tournament due to injury), have said that India is in an advantageous position due to playing all its matches in one place. Other teams have to travel to different places in Pakistan.

Bracewell refused to answer.

India had refused to travel to Pakistan for the tournament citing security reasons. When Bracewell was asked if India was getting an unfair advantage in Dubai, he said, 'Look, it was already decided and there is no point in talking about it now.' The 34-year-old spinner said, 'This makes it exciting. I think that we will try to adapt to different conditions on a different ground. We are excited to try, learn, and play in different conditions.'

Hard training before the match against India

The New Zealand player said that the pitches here will help spin and it would be a good idea to train hard before the match against India. He said, 'The pitch here looks helpful for spinners. So, it would be good to try to get used to the wickets as soon as possible. We have enjoyed playing on the pitches of Pakistan.'

'New Zealand team is very balanced'

He said, 'I think we have a very well-balanced team to play in any situation. So hopefully we can continue to do that and adjust to what is in front of us. I think adapting to the pitch is the strength of our team. Hopefully, we will continue to do that as a team.'

'Winning the Test series will boost confidence'

He said that New Zealand is performing consistently well against India in ICC tournaments because its players are not putting pressure on themselves. New Zealand recently defeated India 3-0 in the Test series. They became the first team to win a Test series on a tour to India in 13 years. He said that the Test series win will give confidence to the Black Caps ahead of Sunday's match.

'We don't like to put too much pressure on ourselves'

He said, 'I think we don't like to put too much pressure on ourselves. A great win in the Test series gives us a lot of confidence that we can do it. Our record against India in ICC competitions is really good.' Bracewell said, 'I think we like to move forward match by match. We just try to play our style of cricket and so far it seems to be a good match-up.'
