India is once again witnessing a massive surge at the box office, thanks to Aditya Dhar's spy-action thriller 'Dhurandhar', which features a stellar cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt. Released on December 5th, the film created a storm in its first three days, breaking several records of major films. The film's success isn't limited to India; it's also making waves internationally.
Film's Earnings in India
The film gave a strong indication of its popularity with a robust opening of ₹28.60 crore on its first day. The audience turnout increased further on Saturday, pushing the collection to ₹33 crore. The real explosion came on Sunday, when the film raked in approximately ₹45 crore, its highest figure for the opening weekend. According to the poster shared by the makers, the film has collected ₹106.50 crore in India so far. The film crossed the ₹100 crore mark in just three days. Earlier this year, only 'Chhawa' had managed to achieve this feat.
Film's Gross Collection
In terms of gross collection, the film has earned ₹125.67 crore in India. By Monday morning, the film had added approximately ₹72 lakh to its collection. While a drop in collections during weekdays is common, if the total figure for Monday remains around ₹20 crore, the film could be headed for a blockbuster run at the box office.
Worldwide Gross Collection
The film has had a spectacular opening not only in India but also overseas. Especially in the US and North America, where the film crossed the $2 million mark (₹16.7 crore) in the first three days. Looking at the overseas collection alone, the film has collected ₹34.48 crore so far. This means that the total worldwide gross collection stands at ₹160.15 crore. The film achieved this figure in just three days. Ranveer Singh's previous records surpassed.
With this, the film 'Dhruva' has surpassed the opening weekend collections of Ranveer Singh's successful films in just three days, including Padmaavat (₹78 crore in three days), Simmba (₹75.11 crore), and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (₹46.81 crore). This means that this film has become the biggest opening weekend grosser of Ranveer's career.
