IND vs SA: India did not lose the T20 series in South Africa, Surya's army faces a tough challenge; Know the record

The Indian cricket team was welcomed traditionally on its arrival in South Africa. India has to start its campaign with the first T20 match of three matches on 10th December. This is the format of cricket where India has been most successful against South Africa. India has not won a single Test series against South Africa in their country, whereas it has won one series in ODI. At the same time, India has captured the only three-match series in T-20. This is a team led by Suryakumar Yadav, none of whose cricketers have played a single T-20 match against South Africa.

 

The bouncy pitches of South Africa have always tested the Indian batsmen. This is the reason that despite playing eight series each in Test and ODI, India has had 5-1 success in only one ODI series in 2017-18. In contrast, India's record against South Africa in T-20 is good. In 2018, there were three T20 matches one match each between the two countries before winning the three-match series 2-1. Team India was successful in winning two and the African team was successful in winning one. India had also defeated South Africa in the 2007 T-20 World Cup. This World Cup was won by India under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

 

If Surya is successful, he will be the future regular captain in T20.

Suryakumar Yadav has got the title of 360-degree cricketer in T-20. In the absence of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya against Australia, he was given the command of the team, which he did well. By making him the captain of the team on the South Africa tour, the BCCI selectors have made it clear that he is the future captain of the team. It will be difficult for Rohit Sharma to continue with T20 after the T20 World Cup next year.

 

Hardik has been constantly battling injury problems, due to which he has to be in and out of the team continuously. In such a situation, Suryakumar Yadav has been tried as an alternative. He has passed the Australian test. If he passes the test in South Africa, his captaincy can be confirmed in the T20 format after the World Cup.

 

Cricketers will strengthen their claim for the World Cup

This series is important keeping in mind the preparations for the World Cup. Tilak Verma, Rinku Singh, wicket-keeper batsman Jitesh Sharma, Ravi Bishnoi, and Mukesh Kumar will try their best to strengthen their claim for the T20 World Cup through this series. Bishnoi has become the Player of the Series against Australia by taking nine wickets in five matches. If he remains lethal in this series too, his claim as the third spinner for the World Cup will become very strong.

 

If Tilak Verma and Jitesh get a chance and they are successful, the selectors will get more options for the World Cup. Rinku Singh has performed the role of finisher at number six very well against Australia. Now he will be tested on the bouncy pitches of South Africa.
