Indian opener KL Rahul scored his 11th century in his Test career against the West Indies. He scored his first century on Indian soil after nine years and his second at home. He had to wait 3211 days for this. He was dismissed for 100 runs, achieving a unique feat.

Indeed, KL Rahul became the first cricketer in Test history to be dismissed for 100 runs twice in the same calendar year. This was the second consecutive time Rahul had scored a Test century and was dismissed for exactly 100 runs. He had scored 100 runs in the Lord's Test against England in July.

This was the first time.

It is noteworthy that since the first Test match was played in 1877, no cricketer has been dismissed for 100 runs twice in the same calendar year. KL Rahul became the first batsman to do so. Furthermore, Rahul became the seventh player overall to be dismissed for 100 runs twice in his Test career.

Second century in India

Rahul scored his first home century since 2016 and his second on home soil. He scored a brilliant 100 off 197 balls, including 12 fours, in a Test match against the West Indies in Ahmedabad. After scoring his century, he celebrated in a special way, revealing who it was for.

Celebrated for Daughter

After the match, Rahul said, "It was for my daughter. I had just played a match last week (for India A). So, yes, I was a little nervous playing there because I hadn't been on the field for 5-6 weeks. So getting back into that rhythm, scoring runs, spending time on the field, and playing for 4-5 days in a row is a bit of a challenge physically as well."

India declared first innings.

India bowled out the West Indies for 162 runs in the first innings. India then declared at 448 for five, thanks to centuries from KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja, taking a 286-run lead.
