Army Chief On LAC: Amidst the ongoing dispute over the LAC adjoining eastern Ladakh, Army Chief General MM Naravane has made it clear that if China tries to impose war, then India's There will be victory. The Army Chief has said that even though talks are going on with China and the dispute has ended in many places, the threat to the LAC remains. On Wednesday, ahead of Army Day (January 15), Army Chief General MM Naravane was addressing the annual press conference. Due to the Kovid protocol, General Naravane did this media conference through a virtual medium.
If China imposes war, India will win
Addressing the media, the Army Chief said that the root of the dispute over the Line of Actual Control (LAC) adjoining Eastern Ladakh is a large gathering of the Chinese Army. According to General Naravane, even though disengagement has taken place at many disputed places of the LAC, there is still de-escalation (ie reducing the number of troops) and deinduction, that is, the return of China's PLA soldiers to the garrison. Unless this de-escalation and de-induction are done, there will be no peace on the LAC. General Naravane said that after the gathering of the Chinese army, India also deployed 25 thousand additional soldiers in eastern Ladakh. The result of this was that India is in a better position to deal with the Chinese army today than in the last one and a half years.
The situation on LAC is under India's control: Army Chief
General MM Naravane said that 'realignment' has also been done in the deployment of the army to deal with the Chinese threat. Responding to a question, the Army Chief said that the situation along the LAC is stable and under India's control, but if the situation worsens and attempts are made to impose war, India will win. However, he also said that war is the 'last resort. General Naravane said that the Indian Army is absolutely 'firm in dealing with China's PLA army. According to General Naravane, some meaningful changes have also taken place on the northern (China) border. These include disengagement in many disputed areas.
Disputes will continue till border dispute is resolved: Army Chief
Regarding the ongoing meeting between the military commanders of India and China on Wednesday, the Army Chief expressed the hope that the last disputed area, the Patrolling Point of Hot-Spring, ie PP-15, is being discussed in it so that it can also be resolved. He said that after this, efforts will be made to resolve disputed areas like Depsang, which is already between the armies of the two countries before the current dispute. Regarding the activities of the Chinese Army in Arunachal Pradesh, the Army Chief said that until the border dispute between India and China is not resolved, there will be disputes on the LAC. He said that the border dispute will continue to prick like a thorn in the relations between the two countries.
