Sri Lanka Crisis: All-party government in Sri Lanka, four new ministers including finance and foreign took oath

Sri Lanka is going to form an all-party government amid the financial crisis. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has invited all parties to form the government. Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appealed to all the parties to join the ministry and find a solution to the crisis in the country. In fact, amidst violence and political speculation in Sri Lanka, the cabinet had collectively resigned late at night. However, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapeksh did not submit his resignation.

 

 

He said that the current crisis has emerged due to economic and global reasons. There is a need for all of us to work together for future generations and the interest of the nation. He has invited all party representatives for ministerial posts in the government.

Sri Lanka's opposition appeals to PM Modi

 

Sri Lanka's Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for help. He said, help us as much as possible. This is our motherland. Help us save it. He said that, on the question of elections, he said that, we are ready for everything.

 

Four new ministers took the oath

 

Four new ministers were sworn in on Monday following a state of emergency in Sri Lanka and the mass resignation of the cabinet. This includes from the Finance Minister to the Foreign Minister. Ali Sabri was sworn in as Finance Minister before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. He was inducted into the cabinet replacing Basil Rajapaksa. GL Peiris will be the new foreign minister. Dinesh Gunawardene has been made education minister while Johnson Fernando will handle the highways ministry.
