India has got a big success on Tuesday. The Indian Navy has successfully test-fired the supersonic BrahMos missile. The BrahMos missile has been successfully test-fired from the Navy's combat frigate INS Visakhapatnam stationed on the West Coast.

Indian Navy sources said that it was a sea-to-sea variant of the missile. It attacked the target ship with maximum range and accuracy.

DRDO has made missile

The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile has been developed by DRDO. The range of this missile was recently increased from 298 km to 450 km. This short-range ramjet, a supersonic cruise missile is the fastest in its class in the world. It can be launched from a submarine, ship, aircraft, or even from land. It is based on the technology of Russia's P-800 Onkis cruise missile. This missile has been handed over to the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy.

What is the specialty?

BrahMos missile has been developed indigenously

BrahMos missile is a joint project of Russia and India.

In this Brah means 'Brahmaputra' and Mos means 'Moskva'.

BrahMos is a supersonic cruise missile that is counted among the most dangerous missiles of the 21st century.

BrahMos is powered by a ramjet engine, which increases its speed and makes the accuracy more lethal

BrahMos missile can fly at a maximum speed of Mach 3.5 i.e. 4,300 km.

Enemy's radar can't catch it

This missile is also to be deployed in MiG-29, Tejas, and Rafale in the future.

'Pralaya' was successfully tested

Significantly, earlier, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) had successfully test-fired the short-range ballistic missile Pralay. DRDO successfully conducted the Pralay test on 22 and 23 December. Its first successful test was conducted on 22 December from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha. The second time also he was tested again at the same time.
