Dhruv Rathee described Dhurandhar 2 as a "WhatsApp forward" rather than a film inspired by "true events," and even raised questions regarding the Supreme Court.

Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar 2 has been creating a massive buzz at the box office ever since its release. While one section of the audience cannot stop praising it, there are others who have been critical of the film. Among these critics is YouTuber Dhruv Rathee.

In his latest video, the YouTuber has once again taken a dig at Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Prior to this, in an earlier video, Dhruv Rathee had labeled Dhurandhar 2 as a “propaganda” and “brain-rot” film.

Dhruv Rathee Calls the Film an “Election Ad”

In his new video, Dhruv Rathee asserted that Dhurandhar 2 was not created for the purpose of entertainment; rather, it serves as the BJP’s most expensive election advertisement. He argued that the film represents an attempt to rewrite history.

Dhruv Rathee titled his new video, “Dhurandhar 2 Exposed: What They Don’t Show You.” In the video, Dhruv stated that the film not only insults the nation but also disparages its citizens. Dhruv pointed out that the film contains a disclaimer stating that it is a “fictional work inspired by real events.” Dhruv characterized this as a form of legal manipulation.

Questions Raised Even Over the Claim of Being “Inspired by Real Events”

He remarked, “Aditya Dhar has constructed a cinematic universe out of WhatsApp forwards. Instead of writing ‘inspired by real events’ at the beginning, they should have written ‘inspired by WhatsApp forwards.’ That would have been far more accurate.”

Dhruv also commented on the film’s portrayal of the subject of demonetization. He noted that while the film depicts it as a “masterstroke,” the reality is starkly different. He argued that if one approaches the matter logically, the question arises: does this make any sense? Can such a drastic measure truly be justified for such a minor objective?
