Two Indian Navy ships Shivalik and Kamorta arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for bilateral defense cooperation programs. Both ships are stationed in the South China Sea. During the visit, the Indian Navy and the Vietnam People's Navy will hold talks on a range of issues. Earlier this year, two Indian Navy ships, Sahyadri and Kadmatt also visited Ho Chi Minh City.

The visit of ships will establish stronger ties between the two navies as well as enhance bilateral defense cooperation to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Vietnam. However, this may cause problems for China. China is continuously troubling other countries with its activities in the South China Sea.
