Defense production in the country is continuously increasing. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said in Gandhinagar, Gujarat today that the government is aiming to increase this production to Rs 1.8 lakh crore by 2025.

Rajnath Singh said this in the 'Invest in Defense' program organized on the occasion of the Defense Expo 2022 in Gandhinagar. Singh appealed to the investors that they can directly approach him or the Defense Ministry without any hesitation for resolving any issue. The Defense Minister said that not only big corporates but also startups and MSMEs are joining the defense sector. This is a golden age for the defense sector. The Indian defense industry is the emerging sector of the future.

Rajnath Singh said that the government is also making continuous efforts to increase the defense production of the country. It is currently at $12 billion, with a target to increase it to $22 billion by 2025. We can even exceed this goal. The government has taken several reforms to boost defense production at the local level.

Earlier the Defense Ministry had kept the doors closed for private players. Defense ministers and officials did not hold meetings with investors because of the apprehension that someone would point fingers at them, but we are not worried about that. Our doors are always open to your 'Private Investors'.

The defense and economic prosperity of the country complement each other. If the country remains safe from dangers, it will progress more rapidly. Even after many years of independence, India could not get independence from the belief that if we pay more attention to enhancing its defense capabilities, then we will have to compromise on the socio-economic front.

For a long time, it was believed that defense and development are two opposite poles, which means that if we focus on socioeconomic development, we will have to compromise on our defense capabilities. The Defense Minister said that now, I am happy that the country came out of that perception during the last few years.
